Hey James, carry over from last thread

How do you know he's not? He's only 24.

So Kadri for OEL, who wins that trade

Toronto obviously. OEL is a fully developed top five (at worst) NHL defenseman. Kadri rules, but let's not get crazy.

I like the guy but we will have to agree to disagree on that.

I like your first idea. Seems logical to me.

But the touch the goal line thing just opens up too many questions and is just all in all a brutal idea. Basically any puck that hits the inside of the post is in? hahaha. And I don't quite understand how it gets past the paradox problem or whatever. If we can't tell when the back of the puck completely passes over the line, how would we be able to tell if the front of the puck touches the line?

So Monahan + a 1st gets kadri, what would a flames package for oel be like?

I know he plays in the west, but it blows my mind that people don't realize how good OEL is and, more importantly, his value as a young #1D locked up at a ridiculous bargain of a cap hit. Toronto would have to start with Kadri, Nylander, and Nashville's 1st and add from there.

Infrared cameras on frozen surfaces? You want players to start being equipped with the Predator camo too? Maybe bring back the pucks that left trails on the screen for viewers to follow. What about remote detonator and as soon as the puck completely crosses the line it explodes. Leave your comic books out of the game Tanner.

Because the argument is always whether the entire puck crossed the line. You can usually tell when a bit of it does. Also, if you're using infrared, you could create a visible plan, and if it's breached at all: goal.

To be honest with you the only trade I would involve OEL would have to see McDavid coming to Phoenix.

No. Let's not get crazy, but OEL and Edmonton's choice of Strome, Marner or Hanifin?

The Oilers should probably do that to be honest. Given how good their fowards are, and assuming they could trade a couple future picks for a good goalie, how insane does their team look starting next year if their defense features OEL, Nurse, Klefbom, Hanifin, Maricin and Schultz.

I'd have to figure if not Cup favorites next year, they would be the year after.

I hope to God Phoenix drafts Strome, they "NEED" a young guy with #1 center potential.

Honestly McDavid is probably worth a bit more than that. Kid could be generational and franchise turning. OEL, Strome would be a nice haul, but I think he is worth more than just 2 pieces

Great deal for Toronto. Clearly. Don Maloney would insist on Reilly instead of Gardiner and probably the addition of JVR.

Toronto loses that deal, IMO.

You're probably right which is why this trade will never happen. The Oilers will want to be paid on McDavids potential, but at the same time, the Coyotes will insist they have the second coming of Nick Lidstrom.

It's not entirely impossible that if this trade went down, there would be a Colorado/Philly thing going on where the best player ends up being Forsberg/ OEL.

Arizona wouldn't do that.

More like Kessel, JVR, Kadri and Rielly for OEL + but even then, I don't see the point in trading a potentially generational defenseman.
